My desire is that seeing my colorful art would uplift and inspire you in a way that challenges you to pursue your own passions.
From my earliest recollections, color has moved and inspired me. It has continued to make me a cheerful person even in the toughest of times.
Inspired by watching Walt Disneys " Wonderful World of Color" as a child I was moved by the colorful imagery I watched. While attending schools in Stockton , California I pushed music instead of art because it was something I did naturally.
After getting a scholarship after high school to study art at University of The Pacific, I left Stockton due the lack of challenge and little support.
On the contrary, where were the black artists? So my adventure began through a life of pursuing a work life not exactly artistic nonetheless needful to support living in the Bay Area. I opened my art studio, renting a space at the historic Hunters Point Shipyard in 2003. The idea came after having my first public art exhibit at the African Gallery at the newly built San Francisco Library in 2001. From that point on I've consistently shown my art at Chez Rhonel Gallerie, Papyrus Inc., SF Travel, SF Mercantile, La Boulangerie, and Noir Wine Lounge.
My day job is at Apple Union Square, where you will find me in my Creative Pro role assisting customers in Sessions, Photo Walks, and Sketch Walks.
I've continued to produce my colorful art inspired by jazz musicians, San Francisco incons, Paris and local neighborhoods.
Currently I'm working on a book called " Love Your Color", which catalogs my artwork throughout my life and art career.
