ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Chen Qilin, male, of The Miao nationality is a modern folk artist. He specializes in Chinese folk painting and paper cutting. Chen was born in a peasant family in Guizhou province China on April 1964 and began painting in 1983. In his 30 years of painting, he has created a lot of works and won many awards. His work has been shown in the United States, Britain, France, Uruguay, Argentina, Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as many art galleries and collections in China. He has also trained a large number of children to paint. He still lives in the country and continues to paint.
Yang Wenying, female, a Miao painter, was born in 1934 of a peasant family. Self-taught with no formal training, Yang learned her skills through her family and honed them on her own. She continues to create. Her works have been exhibited and collected in China and abroad.
Liao Rujun, male, was born in December 1962 in Ge in the Guizhou province. In 1983, the creation of Liao Rujun's "Spring Sound of Ge Village” was held in Beijing to participate in the inaugural exhibition of farmers. This piece won a prize and was added to the collection in The National Chinese Art Museum, making Liao the first peasant painter in Guizhou province to have artwork added to the national museum. His more than 2,000 works have been collected by art lovers and collectors from the United States, France, Germany, Canada, Belgium, Argentina, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
