Theatre Rhinoceros has been presenting a staged reading series in the Castro since July 2016. We are pleased to currently present at Spark Arts on the first Tuesday of each month. Our vision for the play reading series is a monthly gathering with local actors presenting scripts of interest to the LGBT community. Our belief is that theater is a great community builder and that it doesn't always have to be a full production for which patrons pay admission. We engage local directors and actors to prepare the readings, with a couple of rehearsals, then present them--once--to an audience at the gallery. The actors have scripts in hand, and there is minimal (if any) costumes, scenery, or blocking. We do not charge for the event.
Our next presentation will be Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them by A. Rey Pamatmat on April 3. Other upcoming plays include: Rotterdam by Jon Brittain, Ambrose by Romulus Linney, Voices from the Edge by Rhodessa Jones, MMF by David Kempel, Fixed by Boni Alvarez, The Moors by Jen Silverman, and Cardboard Piano by Hansol Jung.
Totally FREE admission.
